Craft Hope Pillowcases & Spreading seeds of hope one stitch at a time

Craft Hope Spreading seeds of hope one stitch at a time

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and my pal and I were inspired by all of the momentum over at Craft Hope and their pillowcase project with ConKerr Cancer.  We contacted ConKerr Cancer's Toronto representative and discovered that Toronto's SickKids Hospital also accepts pillowcases -   apparently, the hospital has collected 5,000 pillow cases.

We used Dana at Made's easy pillowcase tutorial and chose an assortment of licensed fabrics and bright colours (which our kids approved of!)

Some John Deere

Ikea car fabric (vitamer bil)  which has made multiple appearances in my posts

Pixer Car Fabric

Strawberry Shortcake (another frequent guest)

My Little Pony

If you can stitch a straight line and have an hour, this is a very special way to make a difference in a little one's life during a very difficult time.

If you don't sew maybe you could donate a yard of 100% cotton fabric to someone who does sew.  The SickKids project is ongoing and sadly, there is a need.

This post is part of September sewing challenge.

  2. What an absolutely lovely idea. I'm going to have to break out the sewing machine right after I contact our local children's hospital.
