When my pal pointed me to this post on The Long Thread (a fabulous blog) I just knew we had to try it at home.  The tutorial is found on Alpha Mom, here.  

Miss Lily and I worked on the nest together.  The tutorial calls for shredding (no legal opinions were harmed) and clear glue (we used diluted modge podge which worked fine). Miss Lily painted the foam eggs pale blue on her own.  The chick is from the dollarstore.

The girls really enjoy this nest.  Lots of pretend play.  It is a fun and messy project! and I think the end result is just as nice as these
